Most teachers are enthusiastic for students to learn, but there are some that looked depressed because of the kids. The school overall is good, and like always there's a kid who's a bully, but it was an alright school

Best school I've every worked at. Very clean campus. Single Gender Classrooms - either All Boys or All Girls. Excellent learning environment for the Girls but needs to work on cultivating an environment that will better serve the boys. Average level pre-teen rudeness at worst NO gangs or Violence. STEM school, Science department works with USC Robotics, Biomechanics, Engineer students who come teach the kids. Excellent variety of P.E. equipment/activities Archery, Hockey, Bowling, etc and the kids get to go on Surfing Field Trips. There's a free after school program from 3:30 to 6:30 with a great staff and program director who the kids like and respect. The students have ADVISORY class where they stay with the same "homeroom" teacher for the whole 3 years and get counseling on Social, Emotional, Academic Skills. There's also a GEAR up for College Program on campus. The school itself has a controversial architectural designs (I actually like it) But I will say it definitely serves to eliminate the "hiding places" that many, many other middle schools have that allows for kids to do things like smoke, or fool around. I plan to send my daughter to this school.
