Our family was new to the district for the 2018-2019 school year and I have to say I was frightened by the reviews that I read about the school. This school was closest to my home so I sent my 7th grade son there . I had read reviews about students being bullied for their ethnicity, (especially if they were white) I read comments about the teachers being lazy and I read comments about numerous fights and things being stolen on campus. I have to say that our experience was quite different. My son is white (very white) and he has managed to surround himself with a group of friends who don't mind joking back and forth about things such as that. My son has never been bullied. Not even once. And my experience as a parent with the teachers has been phenomenal. There has been open communication and help was offered when it was needed. Face-to-face meetings took place with myself and the teachers if I requested one. The atmosphere is amazing, the energy is great, the athletics department is second-to-none and the school is amazing. My son is excited to return for his 8th grade year and we are happy to be a part of the Los Banos Junior high School family.. My personal opinion is that a student's experience at any school is what they make of it. How they choose to respond to what's going on around them or directly to them. Every school has its share problems whether it's bullying, theft or a staff member that isn't liked by students or parents. If you look hard enough you will see the negativity but your experience can be amazing if you choose to respond to that with your own positive attitude. Choose to see the good and you will see the people around you start to see the good in things as well...It's a choice.

Worse school ever also the worst school district , be prepared for your child things to be stolen on a daily bases, bullies at this school is so bad the school can't get a grip on it, fights on campus in the new norm as well, my son who is called a white boy and worse on daily bases the racial slurs is out of control , my daughter experienced it as well ,and that was 4 years ago.

The security and learning environment is terrible. My kids have seen fights happen right in front of them and no officers were around to break it up. Many of the students are being bullied as a result of poor anti-bully awareness. My son has been bullied in class with accusations of being gay and teachers let it slide. This school is full of delinquents and lazy staff members. Once my son got to Pacheco High, he told me it was a huge difference and that it was an awesome school. I'm glad he is happy to go to school again. Not thanks to the Jr. High.
