Horrible experience for my first grader. Her teacher was extremely authoritarian, and she made my daughter feel terrible about herself, which only served to exacerbate behavioral issues. Teacher was always angry about small things like chewing on pencils and tilting in chairs. I understand these things need to be corrected, but her approach was overly harsh, especially for 7-8 year olds. Tried multiple times to get my daughter out of the class, but every other class was full. Later found there have been multiple complaints about this teacher for the same reason. She does not have the right temperament for young children. The school did very little to help the situation, probably because they have too many other problems to address.

Please, please do not send your child to this school. My child was bullied by a whole class and told any teacher she could find about the bulling, but the teachers did nothing. In fact, some of the teachers even joined in on the bulling, calling her names such as Cyclops (because she is 83% blind in her right eye). They sat her in the back of the class and threw tantrums when she said she couldn't she the board. She was a nice kid. Until she went to this school. She had gone from an extrovert to an introvert in an instant. Please, if you care about your child, don't send them to this school.

If you have a choice, dont send your child here to this school. We have had nothing but ongoing problems with the lack of eduication we are receiving as well as the teacher and her attitude. A first garde teacher should be nice and understanding. Mrs. Rhoades should teach high school, not first grade. Switching schools asap.

I'm concerned about this categorical letter I received regarding Butterfieild's academic history. This will be my daughter's first elementary school, entering kinder. Anyone else out there concerned along with me?
