Springer Elementary School

We have been part of the Springer Community for 8 years now with two kids going through - we have felt proud and lucky to be part of such a supportive, warm, and friendly community. Our children have thrived at Springer and love going to school. The neighborhood is awesome and the children feel very connected to each other and to staff. It is a feel-good place to go to school. We are thrilled that we lucked out to be in the attendance area for Springer.

Academics - My daughter's K-3rd grade experiences were great. 4th grade was so-so and 5th and 6th were frustrating. Some teachers need to communicate more with parents. The one page of math homework I saw my daughter doing last night should not be the only thing I see come home at the end of the week. Luckily she did well academically, because the report card was really the only way I saw exactly how she was doing. To think I'd find out at the end of the trimester if she wasn't doing well. I rarely saw a test, a piece of writing, a project. Keep parents informed teachers. I want to know how my child is doing, good or bad!Jury is still out on the Principal.

Some really good teachers and some seriously bad ones that are still there after multiple complaints by parents. It is not worth the money you spend on housing, to go to los altos schools.
