Nevada City Charter School

Absolutely cannot recommend Nevada city charter school at all.

Like another parent review said-this school is very exclusive. If you aren't part of their clique, you are an outsider and treated as such. I cannot recommend this school, due to our bad experience.

My son went to another "alternative" school for his first few years, and it was a nightmare. I was told that he consistently caused trouble, and I was called in for parent meetings and "evaluations" regularly. Finally, one day I had enough. I never thought I would home school my son. I was too busy as a single mother, and I just started my own business. That one day back in 2005' I called Nevada City Charter just to see if it would even remotely be a viable option. From that first phone call on, everything has gone smoothly ever since. My son attended all of their enrichment classes for six years and we've had NOT ONE behavioral problem, AND he has EXCELLED in all of his academics. Looking back I surmise that my son's boredom with the previous schools curriculum combined with their particular approach in both the classroom & parent relations amplified, rather than diminished any potential issues. At Nevada City Charter, my son's core teacher was very attuned with not only my son's needs & abilities, but was especially adept at integrating the School's program with our families needs as a whole. The School's approach is both holistic and organic in that way. I'm so grateful!
