Cypress Elementary School

This school is a great school if you are a Caucasian. This school lacks diversity. Teachers and all the staff needs to go through diversity and inclusion training. I felt like this school is in Idaho or Nebraska or Alabama compared to SoCal because of complete disregard for minority students. You can sense the deep rooted racism in this school and animosity towards minority students from top to bottom. This school is a great example of inculcating white privilege from childhood in the society. Minority parents and students never get a voice.

My son has been in this school since Kindergarten and we love the school; HE loves the school. We have many friends that we have met from this school and they all love this school. The school we are "assigned" to is not a very good school compared to Cypress that is why we "school choiced" here. Cypress administration, and faculty care deeply and work hard for the students, and the parents as a group are amazing. There are a lot of very involved parents and it is amazing how much of a better experience the students have when the parents are involved. The involved parents also seem to have fewer issues with anything going on at the school because they know what is going on and understand all the extraordinary efforts that are being taken to make the students better people and great students.

Cypress has been such a pleasant experience for our family. Such a clean, quaint school nestled along side nature’s beautiful mountains. The campus feels very safe, kids are all happy and eager, teachers are very organized and really care for their students. Events and social activities are super fun and seem to have lots of parent support. I’ve been super happy with all I’ve seen at Cypress!

My oldest has been at Cypress for six years (she's now a 5th grader) and my youngest is in TK. We have loved the small, family feel of Cypress. Cypress has incredible teachers, administration and parental engagement. When my oldest was in 1st grade her teacher noticed she wasn't make her milestones with reading and had her discreetly visit the reading specialist for a month. The magic clicked and now she's a voracious reader with a Lexile of a ninth grader. I cannot thank her teacher and that specialist enough. Love, love, Cypress!
