I just graduated from this fine establishment. Honestly the problem with this school is the negativity thrown it's way. John glenn has a superior band who have been competing with the best of the best in California and is always proving that eagles soar high. With that in mind, that band does this with almost no fiscal help from outside sources. The young members itself run it by their band fees. Also, the whole band staff (in all honesty) donates their time to the kids , because these kids have heart and a drive. Also the drama department is nothing beyond amazing. Almost no budget (and barely a stage) and yet they produce shows that take audiences breaths away and win first in state (at thespian festival). And wonder why they are do great? Well because the few individual staff members who run those departments care so much about seeing these eagles be the amazing kids they are. Money couldn't pay for what they put forth into this school. And those are just a couple examples why this school is nothing beyond extraordinary!

I am a parent of a student who recently transferred to this school. My child came from a blue ribbon and CA distinguished school. After hearing my child's daily activities in this school, I'm very shocked that there is rampant dishonesty in this school. For example, students from an earlier time of a certain subject would take pictures of the test and send it to students who will be taking the test in a later time via cellphone. The recipients would then open their cellphones during the test. Students who are NOT doing well suddenly get 100% in the test. Students are coddled and spoonfed. Students don't submit their homeworks on time so the teachers give out extra credits to make up for the students' deficiencies. The level of homework is not equivalent to the grade level the students are in. The spelling words are not as challenging as it should be. My child said that it's not worth it to report the cheating since there isn't much that can be done. There is also bullying. My child was sitting on a bench & was told to leave by a group of students because it was their spot. Since my child was new to the school & to avoid any disagreement, my child went to another spot.
