We just started kinder at this school and I can't wait till we are done. Staff needs to be trained on how to communicate with parents. Anytime you ask the lady in the attendance office anything she seems upset. No one is helpful other than the ladies in the front office. If I had another option my daughter would not be attending this school. Priorities are all wrong. Instead of focusing on academic achievement the school will have a whole day for fundraising. Yes, the school needs money but I think not during school hours. It could be done after school or on a weekend.
This school has no money, so it can't afford anything decent. Believe me, I would know. Can't wait until the state realizes that schools actually do need money to work
I wish there were other Elementary schools that were near by. My child is in 1st grade now and needs allot of help in different subjects they pass out a form every yr that offers help to kids that are being left behind, the school is supposedly going to pay for tutoring but when I applied my application was not approved by the principal because supposedly my child did not need the extra help that she was doing well above average??? My child was going to be held back in Kinder!!!! so thats what the principal calls above average :/ I wish there was someone I can call to report this. What are they doing with the money that is given to them for these kids to get tutoring they need. I am a low income family and just wish I had the money to bring my child elsewhere. :( There is only one teacher at this school that all parents fight about when going to 1st grade because she spends the extra time with her students that need the help but other than that all teachers are a poor excuse for a teacher, and office staff are very unprofessional when you walk in they continue to walk around talking and laughing ignoring the parents that walk in.
No matter what kind of school you attend you will always have the same issues. Parents are placing too much responsibility on teachers, when really parents need to be accountable for their own child. If you want your child to succeed then YOU need to help your child succeed. Teachers are doing their best! Classes often have more than 30 children and the teacher can't slow down the class for the students who don't understand. If your child needs help or your child is behind, then you need to be the one that tries to help your child. Homework, spelling list, math facts, etc. aren't sent home every night so they can be thrown in the trash. If you have an issue with a school or teacher because your child is struggling, then you as a parent needs to see how you can help them.
