My son is currently in first grade and my daughter will be starting K here next year. So far, we are delighted with the school and our son's progress. He was at a play-based preschool and found the transition to a classroom a bit difficult at first but his Kinder teacher worked with him and encouraged him and by the end of the year he was really blossoming and taking a lot of pride in his work. He continues to be very engaged in school activities in first grade and often tells me about interesting things he has been doing during the day. There are a lot of parent volunteers at Don Benito, which translates into extra help in the classrooms, a strong sense of community, and special events like the all-school Art-Fest, the Fall Carnival, and the upcoming Science Festival. My daughter is excited to join her brother here next year!

My experience with this school has been a complete nightmare.

I am a parent of a second grader and kindergartener. I have been part of Don Benito family for 3 years now and I am always so proud to tell my friends and relatives that my kids go to Don Benito. There's always beautiful smiles on children face and a lot of parents/grandparents volunteering, I think that's why Don Benito is so special. My son went to a private school for his TK, but my neighbors convinced me to check out our neighborhood school first, I am glad that I did... Not only my kids made a lot of good friends but also I made a lot of friends as well. The teachers and administration are wonderful!

This is our second year at Don Benito. We were at first nervous about the transition to a public school for first grade, since our son did his kinder year at a private Montessori school. Our son is experiencing great academic and personal growth due to Don Benito, which has been amazing as a parent to witness! Like all things, your experience at a school will be that of what you decide to put into it. There is a very strong community of parent volunteers to who deeply care about the school, its teachers and students. This is our neighborhood school, and we feel strongly about supporting our surrounding community and schools through our commitment to Don Benito!
