Alice M. Birney Elementary School

The teachers here are great, they have knowledge and have good teaching skills.

Was this school formerly in the Huntington Park area? My kindergarten picture has the title of Alice Birney School Room 4 Kindergarten April 1973. I seem to remember my school was withing walking distance of Rugby Avenue where my family lived at the time. I can't seem to find any info on the web about a move.

My grandson attends Birney Elementary, he is a special needs student and he has progressed so much since he started with Birney, his teachers are exceptional and he loves them all.....but I must also say that it is the small things in life that matter the most; Birney Dads Club comes around every Christmas Eve to give a gift to the kids I don't know if it's only for Special Needs children or for children with single parents but I and my daughter are forever grateful that they made it possible for my grandson to see Santa come to the house for the past 4 years.
