Lovonya Dejean Middle School

I think they need to beef up how they run there school and be more strict and have more leadership in my opinion.

My brother went to school here. He had some problems with some of the teachers and I remember my father taking off from work many times for teacher meetings. I wasnt that my brother was a bad student, he got A's and B's but some teachers he had just gave him a difficult time. Another reviewer had mentioned the same happening to them. Fortuntely, my brother has moved on and is now a HS grad and college student. I'm concerned because we just relocated to this area and my son is in the 7th grade. As of now Dejean Middle is full, when I called to check the status of my son's enrollement, I'm told "They're still working on it and they don't know when there will be an opening". We are from Vallejo and never had this problem before but I do know that I don't want to send my son here. I have an aunt who had issues with the school's administration dept. when her child went here, and I think about the things my dad went through. Maybe things have changed, I don't know, but until I hear of some improvement, we went be attending.

I'd rate this school as average, I was a student here and didn't have much problems, the school certainly has room for improvements. I was failing in math and the school offered me small tutoring classes which offered great teachers and a more hands-on approach to learning. There are some really great teachers on campus, they really care about you and try to help you improve. On the other hand, there is a couple of bitter teachers who will hold a grudge against you and try to fail you no matter how hard you try in your work. To conclude, I'd like to say this school felt very safe and comfortable.
