Weston has far exceeded my expectations as a school. From the women in the front office, to the teachers and supporting staff, to the principal, I couldn't have asked for a better team to help educate my child. There is an abundance of school spirit, camaraderie, and extra activities to be a part of. The parent club is phenomenal and does such an amazing job with raising money... they literally had almost $100,000 the last time I attended a meeting and saw the Treasurer's Report. That enables Weston students to enjoy so many extra amenities: technology, art, assemblies, field trips, and more. I'm looking forward to their renovations which will further improve the school, particularly the parking/pick-up zones, bathrooms for the young grades, and the new, larger auditorium. Very exciting! Go Wildcats!
The Teachers at Weston go above and beyond duty when it comes to education. They each put in 100% and go the "extra mile". My daughter had a teacher that did art with the children that were included in their lesson to make their first year fun, another teacher took pictures all year to capture their activities at school and put it in a cd with music and gave it to each of the students. Her 2nd grade teacher had a gift for teaching children with her firm but loving ways who made sure that the children each reached their potential for their age level. The staff, from the principal to the office workers, are always patient and friendly even during their busy times in the mornings. The Parent Faculty Association (PFA) provides many fundraisers that help put money back into the school. Their are many adult volunteers that help ease the workload of the school staff. The deep impact of the budget cuts in California have made teachers, staff, and parents reach deep into their own pockets to so that they can assure that their children have the best and most positive education that they can provide. It is a school where everyone works together for the benefit of the children!
