I would rate this school a 4 out of 5. The school has great educated teachers who push the boundaries of learning.

Average. Teachers seem to do the bare minimal.

The teachers are good! Compassionate and caring. Schools needs alittle more focus on tutoring for the students who are struggling.

We're disappointed in Magnolia Elementary. This school has had several administration changes, and NONE of the teachers we've experienced has pushed our child academically. Part of the problem is RUSD's open district policy. RUSD recently adopted an open district policy. Meaning you don't even have to live here in Riverside to attend an RUSD school. This year it's affecting my child, and probably yours too. My child is an honors student and has been for some time. Yet this year, she has been placed in a combination class with BOTH 5th and 6th grade students. Being concerned, I spoke with a representative of the school, and was told that enrollment is purely based on the numbers of students and has nothing to do with academics. I'm sorry but how does this make sense? As such a bright student, one would think that she would be a prime candidate for a regular or even an advanced class or program like Central's STEM program, alas read below... RUSD touts this new STEM program at Central MS, but enrollment isn't based on academic achievement! Enrollment is loosely application based and lottery. An advanced Sci, Math & Tech class should first go to the brightest. Sincerely, Parent
