Not a good experience. This school needs work.

My son attended BV and he's now in his senior year at Salinas High. He has done exceedingly well, much of which I credit to BV. Students are prepared for high school when they leave BV and my son, as well as his peer group who attended BV, did very well at SHS.

I am a student who moved from a privet school to BVMS. Buena Vista Middle School is a great school especially in our public school system. It has a small student body and each student is given indevidual attention. If you are switching from a privet school into the public school system, this is a great school to go to as it will be different, but much better than other public schools. The campus is beautiful. Buena Vista has a closed campus policy as well. The school sports teams excell and have won many championships. The P.E. teachers push you to do your best but only work as hard as you can as in don't over work yourself. In no time running 2 miles will be nothing and pressure free. You never feel bad if you can't run or do something as well as others and you only are compared to your personal best. The sports equiptment is also very good. Students get to pick an activity such as study hall, band, chorus, forein language, drama, arts and crafts, or mouse squad. Homework and math help are offered after school as well as guitar and other classes. The school is in a beautiful and safe nieborhood.

This school is absolutely amazing. The teachers are excellent and always take the time to answer your questions and make sure that you understand everything. The principal is everything you could ask for. You have a question or concern? He will take the time right then and there out of his already busy schedule and listen to you completely and give you the answer you needed. The students are also very welcoming and help new students adjust easily. The school offers all of the typical sports: girls' volleyball, girls' and boys' soccer, and cross country (fall), girls' and boys' basketball (winter), and track and field, golf, and tennis (spring). Their girls' soccer team has currently been undefeated for the past 2 years. Buena Vista also has a well-working student government known as Associated Student Body (ASB) that gives the students a voice. Most importantly, though, I'm happy to say that the curriculum is absolutely fantastic. The classes are all at a higher level of difficulty and give your child the most they can get out of a public school. I was very impressed after 7 years at a local private school. My experience as a student was phenomenal. I couldn't have asked for more.
