I am the current principal at John Muir. This is my 4th year here, and I am extremely proud of our entire community. The teachers are caring professionals who collaborate weekly to ensure learning objectives are aligned across grade levels. Our scholars are kind and hard working. Our families, our students first teachers, work hard to get their scholars to school despite living in a city is not affordable. Our vision at John Muir is to support our scholars in using evidence to reason and construct viable arguments so that they are confident, independent learners. I have visited many classrooms in SFUSD the last 15 years, and I can say quite confidently that Muir is a special place. My teachers are engaging our scholars daily with rich discussions and rigorous activities. We, of course, are a work in progress and have lots of work to do still, and we have reflective teachers and support staff ready to do the work. Our motto is Team Work Makes the Dream Work. Come visit us!

I know my children are safe and surrounded by people that want them to succeed as much as I do.

My partner's 6-year-old daughter is bullied on a daily basis at John Muir and is really having a hard time despite a plethora of focused efforts on our behalf to get this insanely important issue addressed. Whenever she is bullied they simply tell the bully to apologize but take no punitive action whatsoever. They're not proactive at all. Their only interest is to triage the situation and placate parents. Of course they sound VERY concerned about our bullying concerns but nothing ever changes. We have also been unsuccessful getting our little one transferred. It's awful. Please do not send your child here.

Mr. Rosenberg is the best out there. He was brought to this school from Starr King where he left alot of sad parents, and students due to his departure. He is making sure John Muir is on the right track as he did w/ Starr king. Kudos to Mr. Rosenberg
