Good location, nice little garden, diverse, friendly staff and students. However, they are not the best academically. Steady progress with slight academic improvements.

Excellent, loving, safe, diverse and respectful from the beginning — and five years in, I remain confident we made the right choice.

We are in our second year at SFC and couldn't have picked a better fit for our family. This school is small, the teachers are committed, the families are involved and I feel so lucky that it truly represents the diversity of San Francisco. We always have much to improve on, but test scores don't tell the whole story! We love it here -- the kids have so much exposure to arts and the teachers are SO committed.

We have been super happy. Our child's K-1 teacher is amazing. I could not be happier with our classroom teacher or all the support staff (including "specials" like music, dance and art). It is really a community-based school. The Project Based Learning (2 nine-week sessions each year) is a unique way to engage learners of all styles and at all levels, and to teach critical thinking and collaboration, something that is missing from a traditional curriculum.
