Booksin Elementary School

Over-subscribed and relying on previous commendations, Booksin is no longer a "good" school to send your children too. The school needs a new principal to come in and *stay* for at least five years to turn it around and address the issues. Some long-time teachers need to be moved on as they ignore 504 plans and simply "don't believe" in autism and neurodiversity. Yelling and belittling are used to "motivate" from the third grade onwards. The school district is strongly to blame with few resources and allowed over-population.

Very impressed with the school and the parents organizations. Our kids have thrived based on the solid foundation Booksin provided

The teachers are effective and there is a real sense of community. Only negative is overcrowding because it's no longer just a neighborhood school.

Our experience at this school has been utterly disappointing. This school is overly focused on test scores and academics to the detriment of helping students build social emotional wellness and student character. Classes are too big, teachers are burned out, and it is very clique-y amongst parents.
