James Lick High is Great,They started a New Technology program this school year with the in coming freshman and it seems to have gone well. There is always the first year of a new program that some kinks need to be worked out .Mrs.Daugherty is the principal and she is very hands on with what goes on campus, she knows all the students. Mrs.Blanco another principal she is always visible around campus. James Lick High School gets a bad rap because of the past and all the problems that former students have made. All the Teachers care about the students and want them to succeed. The Baseball & Football coaches are awesome as well.I'm glad my son is attending James Lick and look forward to next school year.

This school has improved a lot for the past years, BUT its API went down last year and MAY even go down this year due to CAHSEE non-passing and lower proficiency rates in both ELA and Mathematics. Teachers have improved, students have better outlook in education and admin tried their best to maintain rigorous curriculum. BUT, James Lick need to TELL the world of its good works on students, like the one accepted in Stanford last year (there was not even a mention of this in the school newspaper), how he focused to learn and excel in what he does; the student who was awarded for his art work and will be in the White House for the ceremony; students who have done extra-ordinary accomplishments in sports, etc; the East Side Teacher of the year is from James Lick this year and others. As if NO ONE is doing great things at this school. Leaders have to APPRECIATE and BE PROUD of the school's accomplishments!

If you took out all of the gangster kids that attend this school, it would be great!
