We were so excided that our 3 year duaghter who has moderate to severe autsim to start her preshool this September, What suprises me is that I was just informed last friday that her shcool bus can only pick her up at 7:00am in the morning, while the class starts at 8:20. Do you think this even make sense? They want an Autsim kid to spend 1 and half hour on a school bus, while it only takes 15 mins to get to the school? When I call the #AlumRockTransportation, they lady told me since there is no bus goes to my area, this is all what they can do, and I asked if I can talked to her manager, she said, if my manager Michelle has time she will call you back, (basically if she does not have time, she will just ignore my request and I never receives any feedback) I am extremely upset about the school district because I do not think they care about my kid's development at all, and they think spending more money & effort on solving my problem is more important than my an Autsim kid's developement. Now, we have to consider to move to a better area and sell our house since we are so unlucky to be assigned to this school district.

Execellent teachers comming from past student. Great challenging academic programs. I just miss all of my teachers!

The teachers at this school work hard, very hard, almost too hard. Many stay late into the evening despite the obvious safety warnings issued by the district to staff. The new principal appears more interested in pleasing the district than helping/encouraging the staff or connecting with the students. Her "positive" attitude toward the students is fake and unauthentic by all accounts. The staff lacks morale and is overworked. Many have to buy classroom supplies & constantly have to worry about things being stolen. The graffiti problem is embarrassing. There is a special education program there, however it lacks a play ground, adequate material & adequate funding. Some teachers on the staff really want to help children, however the lack of respectful leadership hampers most efforts. A lot of teachers are now bitter & disillusioned. This school, and district in general, needs to work on overall morale if they want growth.
