The Physics/technology academy program at this school is phenomenal. As an alumni of the program, I found myself very well prepared for college engineering courses at Cal Poly. Projects from this class were extremely comprehensive and challenging. In some cases, even more challenging than projects that I had in college. The resources available to this program are unmatched by 99% of what most high schools can offer.

SRHS is a very diverse school, which has both advantages and disadvantages. Unlike other high schools in Marin which consist of mostly white middle to upper middle class families who donate large sums of money to the schools, SRHS is lacking financial support from many of its socioeconomically disadvantaged families who make up a large portion of the SRHS community. As a result, SRHS does not have some of the fancy bells and whistles of neighboring public high schools. However, if your student is able to accept kids from different backgrounds, wants to take advantage of courses that will challenge him/her, thrives in an environment where there is a place for everyone and not one dominant popular social group and wants to be part of a sports team even though he/she may not be the best at that sport, then SRHS is worth considering. It is not by any means a perfect high school, but don't rule it out because of what you may think of it from an outside view.

I believe that San Rafael High School is a great school. My daughter is in her Junior year and I ve come to develop a wonderful relationship with the faculty. They ve really taken a personal interest in her, and seemingly each child. The new principal is working hard and doing a great job in areas that could use improvement. The faculty are highly qualified. In my experience they ve gone above and beyond to see that each student is successful and receives the individual attention he or she needs.

I love the surroundings, the teachers, and staff as a whole. They give the children so much enlightenment and I am forever grateful. Check out the wonderful staff over there and you will see exactly what I am talking about. Glenn Dennis, is in his 2nd year as principal and already he has positively impacted the school in such a tremendous way. The parents and children alike appreciate the attentiveness the school staff shows. My child comes home every day telling me something he did and enjoyed at school. San Rafael High is a great environment!
