Juan Cabrillo Middle School

Terrible. Kids are miserable. Not just mine either. If you read things from their classmates, this place is a disaster. My kids have met so students here who are bored and depressed. As a parent, reading what the other kids write makes me worried. Kids are not challenged nor inspired. Too much berating and admonishing of kids. No personalization or differentiation in instruction. No creativity. Just sardine can processing. Only a few teachers are the type who truly care about students. Unfortunately they are not the majority.

Principle is very approachable, friendly and hard working. Most of the teachers are very experienced and nice.

We love this school! An amazing staff - very personable. Stan the principal is always so happy and positive - great influence on the staff and children. He has a sunny disposition and everyone has been there for over 20 years - there must be something they are doing right!

Cabrillo middle school is obviously not a Cupertino school and it could do a lot better in math. But the school does participate in STEM which is a good start. I also think it is good that students are not overloaded with homework. The staff is great and Stan Garber is a good principal. I don't think there are many principals who direct traffic early in the morning; also the students like him.
