Santa Clara High School

It's alright. It wasn't my best experience in life.

I am a teacher at SCHS. This is not the first school I've taught at, so I have some insight into what is happening at a variety of schools in other districts as well as those attended by my own children. What I give Santa Clara 5 stars for is its; kindness. We are a large school, which could easily lend itself to an atmosphere of disconnection. In fact, the opposite is true. Over and over again, I am touched to see how our students support each other and accept diversity. A student, who has more than their share of "targetable traits" can stand up and sing at a rally and be cheered, academically struggling students are helped by other students not teased. This is the first school I've worked at where theft in my classroom is not a worry. A stand out moment to me this year was at an assembly meant to simulate the reality of DUI. The reenactment includes a memorial put on by students. A Pastor gave the introduction to an overflowing gym and it was obvious by his words that he'd had many experiences with schools who made a mockery of the program and didn't allow themselves to "maturely and fully" take the experience as it is meant to be taken. The praise (and yes, surprise) in his voice enthusiastically complimenting our student's behavior at the end of the program spoke to exactly what the school climate is at SCHS. I feel blessed every day I go to school to be around students who are so caring - about each other, about their teachers and about our school.

This schools is one of the best choices I've made for my kid. My child comes home happy everyday because of the fact that you can enjoy doing your work in this school. This school has provided some great teachers who taught really well. Because of that, my child got really good grades last semester. Lastly, I want to thank this school for its great education, students, and staff. Than you !!!!!

Schs is providing a rigorous academic program in a safe and supportive environment. The students are well-known by the faculty, who themselves are intelligent and attuned to teaching and trends in education. The quality of relationships between the students and staff is a sign of respect and integrity. I can't imagine a more exciting place to be a student, and I am very grateful for the education for my self and my freshmen brother.
