Teachers are too easy on students. They have too many opportunities to redo and make up work. This is not the real world. A 70% is a B in my daughter's geometry class. How is that preparing her for college?

I have one child at NTHS and one entering in the Fall. I feel that the Principal, Assistant Principal and the Guidance Counselor do an OUTSTANDING job. Any and every time I have contacted them I have had my question answered or my problem solved within the hour. They are very attentive, approachable and on top of things. I believe this school is getting better by the year. The same goes for the teachers. Their willingness to work with students varying interests, especially with regards to Ski Academy and Independent Study really works well and it shows.

North Tahoe is a great small school. My kid enjoys the atmosphere and is able to accomplish her goals regarding AP classes and staying ahead. Although we have a mix of populations, the kids all seem to get along. Great music, art and athletics for a school of this size. Can't go wrong especially if parents stay involved.

North Tahoe High School has improved tremendously over the last few years. We are a small school with a large number of AP classes along with many options for student athletes. Several sports teams; Nordic Ski Team, Alpine Ski Team, and Cross Country teams, have produced top athletes on the National level. The Ski Academy continues to attract top athletes. The team of administrators, counselors and teachers are stable and have all of the kids, low achieving as well as high achieving, best interest as their number one goal. There is lots of parent involvement especially in Boosters (Athletics)and in the Band Program. I believe both my children will be successful here. We enjoy the small school atmosphere and it is a relatively newly built school so it is clean and up to date.
