It was alright until I finished woodI was not treated that well and I find wood the worse school in Solano county. I hope it'll go lower In rank in the future and the students will go To Vaca high or Vacaville Christian school.

I have continuously had kids in WCW for over 10 years and still do. I am far from impressed with the academics, counseling, and overall quality of teachers. There are some excellent teachers, many average, and several mediocre to lazy. The soccer team is almost all Hispanic and clearly turns a blind eye to other races of players with skill. The money is spent on football and baseball, including a brand new stadium that was grossly expensive. The campus, overall, is crowded, dated, and dirty. It was originally built as a middle school. Many students that graduate to attend a 4 year university find themselves ill prepared and move back home within a year. Counselors regularly encourage students to settle and attend a JC instead of encouraging them to push themselves and get accepted into a 4 year. As a parent, do not expect this school to push your child to succeed. It will be up to you. WCW is great at graduating blue collar workers or service industry workers, but not high tech careers or the like. All of my kids have commented the following about WCW: boring, low energy, lack of academic assistance, favoritism, poor academic counseling, lack of knowledge about scholarships beyond the common or local ones, very limited culture, overall an uninteresting or engaging campus/community at school. These opinions come from my kids and family. (a teacher, a military officer, a current college attendee, a current student) (all were involved in sports and clubs)

We moved to Vacaville from the midwest and I was very nervous about the reputation that "California public schools" seem to have in the rest of the country. I have been VERY pleasntly surprised by the quality of this school. The teachers are genuine and very supportive, the athletics are competitive in the region, and the student body seems generally supportive of each other, and accepting of diversity and differences. The "bless you" incident was completely blown entirely out pof proportion, no points were ever taken from students and it was a matter of the teacher actually doing his job and trying to control his class (from a bunch of disruptive out of line students) and not one of religion or separation of church and state.

i find it disturbing that this school district would employ a teacher would deduct points from a student for saying god bless you. not only has this teacher violated this student's right of free speech, but his views are representative of polital correctness that has been crippling for some time now. in this case, it should be the teacher that is repremanded, not the student!
