So so. It's getting better with this principle.

This school is awful. Kindergarten was great for my daughter but when it came to first and second they let her fall behind. My 7 year old has dyslexia and I couldn't get a iep to save my life. Everyday my daughter came home crying from being picked on constantly. Nothing was done. Her second grade teacher me Smith was an absolute joke. She favored the kids who didn't need help. She kept saying my daughter had adhd and she needs to be tested. What the hell who is she to try and diagnose my kid. Homework was never graded. As long as parents signed it she tossed it in recycling. Also sent my kid home with a pack of test to be graded that was over a month old. Lazy teachers. The principle had never taught. She told the children they were not aloud to even fart in class. My daughter ended up with a UTI because they would not let her go to the bathroom. And when she did go the bathrooms were disgusting and covered I. Pee and poop. My daughter was sick every week because of mold on the ceilings. This school sucks

Its been horrible. Principle is incompetent. She refuses to deal with problems and yells at students. There is no communication with parents. If the teacher is out they rarely get subs and students are sent to other classes rooms to sit for the day, learning nothing. My child will not be returning next year.

Glen Cove Elementary School. First of all, the teacher that is afraid that kids should not be in the cold is not a very educated teacher because it is a known fact that cold does not cause sickness and that it is good for kids to be outside in even the coldest of weather. There are Harvard, Berkeley and many more studies that show this. Why is this teacher not educated? Another thing, I do not like the fact that this school is so behind on the times. The use of timeout is really 80s and many studies have showed that using timeout or other punitive measures leads to poor IQ scores. Get with the times and learn how to use non-punitive measures to treat your kids with respect and dignity, so that we can stop the way people mistreat each other. I realize for Vallejo this is considered a "good school." However, I wish I could home-school or send my kid to a really good private school that doesn't teach kids through the "bell system." and teaches kids to be individuals with careers, not vocational.... God I could go on.
