This is a school that prides itself on academic excellence but does nothing to foster it in students who are not living up to their potential. Either you are smart already when you get here or you are a lost cause. The highest level students get a good college prep experience, in fact, it may be unnecessarily rigorous and unrealistic. However, if you are not in AP/Honors classes, you don't get much attention. It is like a Tale of Two Cities. Football athletes are treated well and the social structure is more slanted towards athletics than academics. There are a lot of entitled teenagers who are in the top social tier of the school and then there are the athletes. The administration seems oblivious to the problems of the normal student. Bullying is routinely ignored. Bad behavior is tolerated. Good judgement is rarely shown. There are individual instructors who have strong skills and care about the students. If my student were an AP/Honors student, I would consider sending them only if they could withstand peer pressure and find their own group and not care about the social status issue. If my student were not in the honors tier, I would under no uncertain terms consider sending him or her to this school.

Terrible school, don't go here. There are AP classes but the cons outweigh the pros.

Ok but I would not send my future child here.

It was terrible ad emotionally scarring. My child was told to give up on herself and her education. Fortunately, we discovered a school that had teachers and administrators who believed in teaching students and helping them overcome learning hurdles. It took longer, but my child earned her accredited high school diploma.
