Great school. The teachers are amazing, warm and really have the students best interest.

I have been at White Oak for 6 years and have nothing but rave reviews for the teachers, staff, students and parents. It a true community.

It was not a good experience for our family. There has been a lot of changes in principals over recent years and the school lacked leadership and oversight. Some of the staff seemed just to be going through the motions and rest on their laurels as the district has a reputation for being academically stronger than others in the area. The PTO also has too much authority. Don’t assume it’s a better funded school because it’s in a wealthier area. They are very reliant on volunteers and donations to fill in the gaps.

We transferred to this school with high hopes having heard such great things about LVUSD and this school in general. Wow are we disappointed. They fill the day with independent reading, board games, computer math games, read aloud books and lots of other things the kids can do at home. Very little research projects, presentations, learning computer programs that will be useful as they get older like Power Point, etc. For some this maybe great, those who are more progressive and think kids should be kids for as long as possible - but some children thrive with more challenge in a more structured environment - and this is lacking. Our child went from being a super engaged and motivated learner to being bored and hating school.
