Walter F. Dexter Middle School

This school has a major bullying problem towards Special Needs students. No consequences for the bullies. I was told several times by staff that there is not enough adult supervision.

My experience was horrible all around. If I cared or didn’t care the school was never active in showing me that they were on my side or assessing any of my problems. The whole school tries to hide things and is at school to collect a pay check. They don’t care to take responsibility for the children and they do not get to the core of the children’s needs. My child was neglected. This place is a joke of a staff and a joke of a school. I have yet to see the incident report I requested for the brutal fight that occurred in school grounds during school hours. My daughter was brutally attacked by a bully who was praised for the fight. The principal Robert Allard was never part of the situation. He became part of it when I sent an email asking the District Superintendent Maria Martinez-Poulin why he wasn’t involved, and even then he paid little mind to the situation. The Superintendent is also a joke.

The teachers at this school have always been very supportive and willing to go that extra mile for my child. They are caring, strict, and keep my daughter accountable. She's gained more confidence in her abilities and I have seen her blossom. She looks forward to going to school and it's all due to the 6th grade teachers/staff. Thank you for your support.
