When I went to this school, the teachers were nice and the work was about where my skill level was. The culture was mediocre at best though. There was a certain group of students the staff could not control no matter what, and they would constantly ruin things for the rest of us. While there are plenty of nice students here, so many others ruin the calm vibe the school was trying to present. This isn't the teachers' fault however, because many students come in so horrible that there is nothing they can do. It's more of a societal problem. Though the fact that other schools seem to handle it better is what makes me question why this school can't seem to do enough to serve the students who want to learn. Overall, if you are an average student here you will do well. If you need a bit more of a calm vibe to concentrate in, this is not the school for you.

This school is a mess and it is only going down the drain

The school's learning opportunities are amazing, they have an AP human geography class which is taught extremely well and their advanced classes are similarly amazing, their language ars program is good and the students are taught well, the electives can vary quite a bit, but it is extremely underfunded in the art department. The social aspect will be determined by the child. It is possible to make great friends at the school, but if your child is innocent and you want them to stay like that just be aware that a lot of conversations get into X-rated territory and alcohol or drugs will appear quite a bit. The school is a coinflip, it is either really good or really bad, I am glad I won that coin flip but, I must point out that some of the students are very rowdy, discipline is loosely enforced and honors are the only chance of a child getting a decent education.

This is one of the worst schools in DPS. The teachers have NO support regarding discipline in the classroom. There is no follow-through from Admin. The culture is terrible.
