My daughter is a fourth grader and has been since kindergarten. The facility and staff have helped her learn and explore her world. She has learned to consider others in the world and what ahe can contribute.

I have one child at Charles Hay, we opted out of our neighborhood school because Hay offers a Spanish program PLUS I had heard great things from several different parents around town. The most important thing, that makes me feel good about having my child here, is that the Staff and MGMT is focused on ‘Creating a Culture that is: inclusive, safe, and fosters learning.’ From what I understand a safe learning environment is essential for children to retain information AND feel comfortable enough to play and explore, even if that means getting it wrong. Then a child feels safe enough to try again and work towards a solution. Also, my child tells me, that there is a kid in class who has to go with the principal quite often. Days pass and she gives me more info, then it comes up that the child who is ‘in trouble’ actually likes the principal. So, being sent to the principal’s office is not a bad thing at Hey, it’s a positive experience! That proved to me the staff is dedication to creating an inclusive and safe environment for all the children.

I have been very happy with this school. There is a welcoming, friendly atmosphere that is dedicated to all of the students. I have a step son at a near by school in a different district and the difference is huge. My step son has a tremendous amount of anxiety around things like homework and he's only in 1st grade. At Charles Hay the approach is to find ways to reinforce what the students are doing at school without creating stress and anxiety. Their approach is absolutely what is right for this age group. They have a brand new building this year that is a bright, state of the art environment for the students.

Our first few years were pretty great. If my children hadn’t loved their teachers, I would have pulled them out mid-year. I expect a better education for my children than Charles Hay can provide, which if this year was an indication of future trends is reducing children to data points and anxiety-ridden test-takers.
