We have had three children attend Bacon Elementary over the last 5 years, just starting our sixth. Every year I am more impressed with the commitment to “making it count for all learners” than the year before. Efforts to provide students with the best learning environment possible is very apparent. Every teacher my children have had have been dedicated and enthusiastic educators. Clear communication on their approach to teaching and expectations from their students have resulted in great levels of learning for my children. One thing that always impresses me, is anytime we are at school, or crossing the street where teachers and Principal Horky are helping in the crosswalk, is that you will always see students happily greeting staff members, and being greeted in return by name. It’s a small thing that tells me a lot about our school. We love Bacon!

As a teacher myself (at a different school), I've been beyond impressed with the teachers and staff at Bacon. My son loves school, has made tremendous academic growth. The creativity, energy, and community feel makes Bacon a top notch school.

I find the front staff to be rude to me. It might be because I don't fit the status quo due to racial and cultural differences. The teachers are so-so. I have yet to go into my child's classroom. I don't really feel like I am getting to be part of my child's education. My kid has had bullying problems getting off the bus. Another kid picks on my student and they've gotten into fights at the bus drop off. It isn't a welcoming environment if you're an outsider.

School takes action based on feedback. Great and experienced staff present for special needs. Principal Mr. Horkey is very proactive and has brought great improvements in the past two years. My kid with special needs and IEP received excellent support here. Special needs families travel here from outside the zoned areas and also from bordering loveland. Provides bus service to the west side neighborhood of timberline road.
