Being a Grandparent to a student at Butler my disagreement is with all days the students are out of school because of teacher or staffing days. But if a child is home sick without a doctors excuse this could count as a tardy or absence. 10 days is a limit and parents receive that their student is missing too much school? Really? In addition the expectation of children regardless of their age in grade school to come home and do 30 minutes worth of reading and other homework after being in school for 7 hours this seems a little too much even for our children that have to ride the bus home and do not get home until almost 4:30. Could anyone not make a special study time in the school? I do understand reading and most parents and grandparents do help with reading but it should not be an everyday with homework. It seems we are turning our children into adults before they become adults and this should be left up to the parents not the teachers. Schools have changed since I sent my children to school and that was in the 80-90s.

Things have really improved in Butler the last few years. The teachers really know what they are doing, the class sizes are still small and the Principal is a ball of energy. Very happy!

Hi, I am not going to complain. I have been happy with Butler. I love how my son has been able to be in the same class as his best friend each year. He has had sweet teachers who really try to work with me on various issues. You guys are great when I have to retrieve my child for appointments without a big interrogation. I think some of the other parents in the parking lot situation could use some help though.

I have been saddened by some things that go on at Butler. I do not like that my child is moved to three different classes. It is confusing to me and him. I also do not think the administration is doing enough to foster the feeling of community in our little town.
