Dutch Creek Elementary School

Excellent! I moved my two girls from the school we are zoned for to Dutch Creek. Both my girls loved it! They loved their teachers and the overall culture of the school. They both felt school was "fun" this year. All of us appreciated the abundance of extra-curricular activities the school offered (esp drama club) and the chances for kids to shine (ie-talent show, DC News, the Everyday Hero essay contest, the playground grant, etc). I feel like DC really fosters an encouraging atmosphere and promotes the importance of character qualities. This is so huge! Academically, my girls thrived. My daughter was given an award yesterday for having improved more than 90% of other 5th graders in the nation! That was music to my ears as school has never come easy to her. This school is great!!

I would not recommend Dutch Creek to anyone. Children are constantly threatened with referrals for even the smallest infraction. Constant calls from the principal over trivial issues. They don't listen to parents when it comes to special needs children and what works for them. This caused my child to get severely injured and go to the emergency room when all they had to do was follow my instructions.

We love this neighborhood school and have found a close-knit family here. The principal, teachers, and staff are warm, welcoming, dedicated, fun, and are constantly striving for excellence. Whatever your background or challenges, this is a great place to make friends and learn.

Our experience has been very positive at Dutch Creek! Great and caring teachers, paras, and principle. I feel that the children receive a very well rounded education. Great before and after school programs are offered that are fun as well as diverse to the children. Lots of great events hosted by the PTA that involves the entire family . The high focus on the positive and a great education is a win win at Dutch Creek. We feel fortunate that this is our school!
