Roaring Brook School

The new leadership (as of 2017) is a breath of fresh air. The principal is outside helping with bus drop-offs and greeting children every morning, and in the hallway saying goodbye every afternoon. We've had absolutely no issues with communication, always receiving prompt replies to emails and phone calls. Communication is proactive from the office whenever an unexpected interruption in the day occurs. I feel as safe as one can in this day and age sending my child to RBS. I know she will be protected, supported, and most importantly, educated.

Overall we had great experience at Roaring Brook School.

This school definitely is results driven. They will never leave anyone behind and it is evident how they are focused. Unfortunately, we had the alternate experience with having an exceptional child who was bored and dealt with bullying and behavior issues at too young of an age.

With two kids at RBS currently, one in Kindergarten and the other in 4th Grade, we've nothing but praise for the school, its leadership and especially the teachers. Coming from a major northeast city's public school system, there simply is no comparison in resources and parental involvement. RBS is a para-teach setting, where the prime teacher is often supplied with paid assistants in many classes. Where resources don't supply the paid para-teaching assistants, parents help out in the class each day. The RBS PTO takes a very vital and active role in educating our families' children, and I feel happy to support each fundraiser I can. Teacher availability: 4.5/5 Yes, some teachers don't often stay late after class but some do, and those who may not often come in early every day to help individual students. Every classroom has a phone, every teacher is "on email" 24/7. I've received replies to my email within hours in most cases. Any time we seek a special meeting, the teacher offers to meet us at our convenience. Activities: 5/5 Most activities are financially supported by the PTO or otherwise by the provider of service.
