Some teachers have been wonderful while others are just trudging through - the difference is very obvious. There have been grades that have been forgotten to be recorded, assignment submissions that have been lost and a lack of attention to some important issues in kids' lives. I trust my child when she tells me that the teacher forgot or missed something because I have seen her do the work... Parents have so much that they have become responsible for when they have a child in school - it seems that the students and parents are being held accountable, but the teachers are not (sometimes...and it's only a sad few lackluster teachers). Whats remarkable is that the kids know. They really do know and they do remember.

I have been very impressed with the teaching staff, besides being approachable, the teachers really care that the kids understand the material. My son never complained about going to school, I feel independence and respect for others are promoted at Elliot

The leadership of this school is unapproachable. Their judgement is questionable at best. They fail miserably in education of the students, turn a blind eye to bullying, and refuse to deal with parents concerns in any meaningful way. My child hated this school, I would recommend any alternative to avoid this particular school and their non-responsive staff.

I could not disagree more with the last (July 2013) parent post. My son has thrived in this school since arriving last year. I reported a bullying incident on the bus that occurred the very first week of school and it was addressed immediately by the assistant principal, who is extremely approachable and caring. The school takes bullying very seriously. My son feels challenged in every subject. His teachers have always been willing to meet with us when we have voiced concerns; they have been honest, fair and nonjudgmental. In fact, one of the English teachers has completely changed my son's historical lack of confidence and interest in reading and writing into a passion for reading and being a creative, confident writer and public speaker. I honestly cannot wait for my other, younger children to attend this school. It's by far one of the best in our school district, with so much to offer our students!
