After four years at Pleasant Valley, my family is very pleased with the school. Every teacher my daughters have had has been very caring and involved, very focused on learning and able to push my daughters to reach their potentials. I absolutely love my older daughter's current teacher. Communication is good with the school and the teachers. There are plenty of opportunities for parents to get involved. My older daughter is taking violin lessons at the school, free of charge, using a violin provided by the school. They have also taught her how to play a recorder. She's consistently earned their Math Masters' awards and is in the top group in her class. The teacher is bright enough to provide her class with work in varying degrees of difficulty so that no one gets left behind, but at the same time the more advanced students aren't doing work that's too easy for them. We've also had a couple of problems with other students over the years (nothing major), but the teachers and principal have taken those seriously and handled the issues quickly, and actually, much more effectively than I was expecting. I have nothing but praise for this school.

My son has been attending PV for the last two years. While we've been lucky with the teachers he's had, the overall school climate is lacking. The principal appears to be nice and is professional, but you come to realize that she really does not hold a vested interest in the students. The office staff can be a turn off and do not make a good first impression. The PTO tries to implement fun programs and activities for the students, but with inadequate leadership, it's usefulness is severely declining. If you expect a welcoming environment when walking into this school, you will be seriously disappointed. If you do not have a choice but to attend this school, be sure to set your expectations very low.

My daughter has been going to this school since pre-school and now she is in 2nd Grade. I'm extremely happy with the staff and curriculam. I just do not see any negetive things about this school. My daughter is extremely happy going to Plesant valley school in Groton!!!!! The teachers take special interest in each individual student's progress and continuously work on strategies to improvise their performance! And now, I'm excited to say that even my Son has got full-time Kindergarten admission in this school.

For those of you reading these reviews, ignore all the old ones. Many go online and write a bad review when they're mad but very few does the opposite. My son have been going here for 2 years now. About a year ago they got a new Principal and she is very nice and professional. Also some old teachers have retired or moved and they have a really good staff now. My son get's challenged in his class room to always do better, when a group of kids gets ahead on a curriculum the teacher personalizes the material for the level of each kid and doesn't hold anyone back. Parent teacher conferences are very informative and they keep you informed on all the activities going on in the school. PTO is very involved. The building condition is good, cafeteria staff is nice. I have nothing but good things to say about this school. Your kids education is a 2 stage one: school and home. Get involved!
