Naugatuck High School is a great place to work. All the staff members are friendly and are truly working for the best interests of the students. The overall climate is very positive and I love seeing students come together to promote kindness and tolerance. I think the school's strength is in its diversity and the many courses it offers for students at all levels.

As a current student at Naugatuck high school, all I can really say is that the administration favors student athletes. I can say this because when I played sports up until I had a career ending injury dealing with the administrators was so easy, they would help you out as much as possible. After I stopped playing sports they just shrugged everything off that I would say to them. Thomas Pompei is one of the most immature administrators at the school, if you as a student or a parent have to talk to someone he would be the last person that I would talk to. Mr. Leary, Mr. Mariano, and all other administration are good at what they do. But again the favoritism to certain students at this school makes everything so unfair. If you don't play sports and don't have a close relationship to them they will not care as much. I'm a senior in good standing with a few detention hours. I work right after school every day after school, I didn't ask them to just wash them away. I tried to work with them and they just don't want to hear it, then I see other students in the same scenario and since they are close to the administration they can get away with it and the administration will help them out. Otherwise the school is alright, but if you're a parent or student that doesn't like favoritism and unfairness then you might want to enroll in a different school.

As a 2012 graduate of this high school , I'm here to say that this school is really going down hill and the future isn't looking good. While NHS isn't horrible it's getting there. The CAPT scores are horrible this school is ranked very low and practice for CAPT is never taken seriously at all, infact many teachers didn't care. For a such a low ranking school the teachers at this school are actually very smart and very helpful , however the classes are over crowded and sometimes that takes away from the learning and teaching process. The school itself is very dirty and gross (remember I graduated before they began changing it) there are papers all around the school , often gross things on the floor things I never saw in any other high school that I visited. Also with afterschool activites I felt that they never really encouraged you to join and just "yelled" you if you didn't. Same with sports as well . This school has very poor leadership as well and no pride .This school is enthincally diverse which causes alot of problems . Overall if I was a parent I would not send my child here at all. There are much better schools in nearby towns which so much more to offer.

As a freshman in Naugy High, I find this school to be great. It's easy to go to teachers for help knowing they'll try to help us. Even though there could be some problems around, it's still a good school. The school also organizes events sometimes that are fun to the students.
