terrible school, currently as a 7th grader I have experienced horrible things such as rude insults, rumors about me, name calling, ect. whenever I say something, my piers pass it on so everyone knows, even if its nothing bad. in 6th grade I repeatedly complained about a student bullying me, and the staff did nothing. not that long ago the students even have made rumors of me inappropiate videos on my device, I complained to my parents and they told the vice-principle but they did nothing. I've been called fat, weak, stupid, rude, and even slow all for just being me. If others have an advantage over you, they will take it. even if your nice to them, if they think your not like them, they will bully you. my 6th grade language arts teacher was so rude to my class, he basically said that we were terrible. he said the N word as an example of a "lesson" and he even used a black kid in my class as an example, I know this because I experienced it. not only that but I tried showing a teacher a magic trick. she didn't follow and ruined the trick along with my dreams. If you're looking for a school to go to then don't go here. Even new kids are treated better than me. I would like to move away but my parents don't want to. so basically I'm stuck here at this school. never go to this school.

This is a terrible school. I moved to Somers because I thought this would be a good school, like others I'm completely disappointed. I've met some great teachers but unfortunately there are several bad apples and so I can't possibly give them a good rating. They do the very minimum, play favorites, and don't communicate well. If you complain you get no where. I would say stay away - I wish I had. Your children deserve better.

6th Grade was my daughter's first school year in the Somers school district. The did a FANTASTIC job of buddying the new kids up with students to help acclimate them to the school. She's in high school now, and we thoroughly enjoyed her experience as MBA. Anytime I had a question/problem with any of the teachers, they were more than accomodating and most defiinitely had the best interests of the students in mind.

We have had three children that have went through the Somers school system. Our children are biracial and all experienced racism, and prejudice. THIS school has virtually no cultural diversity and has no interest in educating the student body in cultural diversity. If you are a family that wants cultural diversity in your school system or have children that racially diverse, be prepared your children will be bullied and the school will only CYA attitude. Don't do it to your children.
