We are parents of a first grader and will not hesitate to send siblings. There is genuine learning and community going on at Northeast that meets and even exceeds the progress that we see among other friends and family members in the more affluent surrounding towns.

I question the ratings of this listing on great schools. Additionally, it needs to be updated to reflect the numbers as of the current year.

We have a 3rd and 1st grader at Northeast and are very happy with the school. The teachers and administration work well together to create a positive, challenging, and creative learning environment for all students. There is an emphasis on creating well-rounded students and the subjects of art, gym, and music are just as important as the traditional subjects of math, reading, writing, and technology. There is a very active PTO that benefits all students and works to bring enrichments into all classrooms and to provide the school with after-hours community building events. We are very happy that Northeast serves a diverse community and appreciate that our children are exposed to kids from other countries, kids who speak different languages, and kids with physical and learning disabilities. Northeast is helping our kids understand that they are part of a bigger world and that they must support and learn from each other in order to succeed at school and in their post-academic lives.I urge anybody considering Northeast to take the time to visit the school and meet the teachers, principal and ass't principal. Simply call the front office and ask for a tour. Test scores and GreatSchools' ratings cannot accurately define an educational experience.
