SHS is a good school with very good teachers. It's sad that it has such a low rating on this website. They are a very diverse population, and that is not a negative thing.

It has an extremely bad reputation and overall is an amazing school with a lot of character

Shs is a really good school if you take advantage of what it has to offer. The problem is, several people don't and that's why the school gets a "bad" reputation in some ways. This school has it's issues just like any other school but some of the negative publicity it gets is really blown way out of proportion. And it's funny because in my experience, a lot of the people who criticize shs and whs the most never went to either school. A lot of the teachers and very good and so are the facilities and extra curriculars. It's also not a cliquey environment because there are a lot of different kinds of people and if you choose your friends wisely you won't run into trouble. I'm in college now and I feel like this school really helped me prepare.

Very unstable school, vice principals tried to overthrow he first permanent principal that had been hired in 8 years due to the inability of her to do her job properly. Teachers are overall very good, some very good, others not so much, all depends on the teacher. Guidance department is a negative for the most part with some bright spots but majority of the department, including the department head, are unsatisfactory. Large variety of student activities due to great diversity. School is very unstable and constantly changing with teachers leaving often because they do not like the environment that was created.
