Not the best school. The teacher did not know how to control her classroom, one child was bullying kids in the class and all the teacher would do is take points from the child. I went to the teacher about Mt daughter getting bullied and was told she didn't know anything of it. I went to the assistant principal in person about the incidents that occurred with my daughter and this bully, nothing was done. It wasn't until I got strong with then and threatened to go to the department of education that the assistant principal talked to the child that was bullying my daughter. Meanwhile the teacher yelled at my daughter embarrassing her and made her cry under her desk with other students watching. My daughter got to the point where she told me she didn't want to talk to her teacher because she felt her teacher didn't pay attention to her complaints. I'm doing everything possible to remove my child from this school so that way she is out of there the following school year. Don't send your child here! If you want your child to get an education send then to a REAL school, this is just a out of control day Care with a school title.

I find the Driggs school administration to be incredibly lax and in need of a major intervention. My children are understimulated and have shown serious academic regression since attending this school which is unacceptable. I do not agree with a lot of the schools policies, specifically no weekend homework or the 10minute assignment maximum the principal told me was mandated by the Waterbury school district. I strongly believe Driggs school and the Waterbury School system is designed to set our children up for failure. I cannot write about other Waterbury public schools but I can say that Driggs is truly sub standard and is a horrible "educational institution".

Driggs School has come a long way. The school has had its share of downhill moments. Since then, the school has gotten a new administrational staff, and some new teachers. This school is definatly not the way it was. I love the new staff. I, as a parent am pleased with the change. I hope that we can get more parent involvement. It is needed for the kids!

I have posted a review before on two of my children who were success stories from Driggs. I now am adding a third success story of a granddaughter Bridget Graham who just graduated from Kennedy HS. this year. Bridget was in the top 10% of her class standing and was inducted into the National Honor Society. She was part of the allied health program and is now a CNA taking pre-reqs to be a nurse or a practionier someday. She did all her grammar school including Pre-K at Driggs. She loved to read. Thanks to all of Bridgets teachers in the Waterbury School System and to Driggs for a a great start to a successful future. Education is the gateway to a promising future and their are many great kids, parents, teachers in Waterbury... Thanks Janet Graham and Jennifer Graham
