I was a student at Latimer Lane Elementary School from 2007-2013. The teaching, and learning is great. But the atmosphere is horrible. Kids often acted out, I got bullied, teachers would yell in the class constantly. I didn't have the services I needed as a somewhat trouble child. The bullying and cliquey-ness of this school made it absolutely horrible. There was even a period of time when I skipped school for weeks because the bullying was so bad. Eventually I was forced to go back to school and they brought in a 'specialist' that did absolutely nothing. I'm so glad I graduated this school in 2013. I know now that the school leadership has changed, so I can't comment on how things are now. Hopefully they have improved.

Exceptional! I have only positive things to say and have only had positive experiences. My 2 boys went through K-6, 3 years apart. Best early education! It truly is a Great Place to Grow and Learn!

In converse to the dated reviews from 2013 and prior: this is the BEST school in Simsbury and I'm so sad to be moving. My kids are proud to go to Latimer Lane School. There are PTO meetings before and after school. There are after school activities: ski club, acting, scratch, taekwondo...The SEED program is the best, Mr. Drew and Ms. Betty Anne maintain a stimulating after school program. The teachers are amazing and connect with the kids so well. We also have a great principal Mr. Luzietti who is intertwined with community.

This is the worst school in Simsbury. All of the schools in this town have student councils, extra curricular clubs, and opportunities for children to be involved in their educational community. Latimer Lane school has NONE of this. There aren't even PTO meetings. Most of the teachers are great, but the leadership is terrible. The principal in no way supports the parent community, and could care less about he happiness of the students. Recess supervisors are slim, and children see them on their cell phones! I honestly have no idea how the quality of this school is not an issue for the district or for the tax paying residents who send their children their daily. If you are moving to Simsbury, avoid this school.
