Stressful environment! Not enough supportive staff. No aids for the teachers, not enough help in the lunchroom and so on. It's sad because they have wonderful teachers, but poor management. The principal is not open to feedback. My son loved his teacher but felt like he didn't have enough time to finish anything. Left him feeling unaccomplished and frustrated. We enrolling him in another school and he's much happier.

Westport schools have an amazing reputation, however, it seems that most the energy and conversations regarding education, in Westport, focuses primarily on the Staples High School. I like this school, but I think it's just ok and misses the mark in providing the level of education that the Westport reputation implies. The student/teacher ratio is too big and with not enough aid to help with their classrooms. This causes a lot of communication errors between teacher/student/parent. Bullying is a huge problem and this is completely ignored. The problems are usually pushed on the child being bullied and suggestions that your child might be too sensitive are implied. This leave both parent and child left to assume they are on their own. The PTA seems to do most of the organizing of events and are left with full control over those events. The minute you walk in the door you will be blasted with unrelenting solicitations for your time and donations. To the level of offensive. In general, I feel this school needs better and stronger leadership.

Why the Grade 4 Level 5 test scores and rankings for KHS are so poor on PSK12.com? Their data is until 2005, but has it really improved this much since then? Any feedback would be highly appreciated. Thanks.
