My experience with this school was terrible and I would hope in the future things will change

We’ve had nothing but a positive experience. The teachers are awesome and the administration is organized and very pro active.

Really, it has been terrible. It’s an anti-bully school that puts certain rules in place, however, they change nothing in regards to the behavior of a lot of the students. My child told me a student was beat up by another student (3rd fight of the year), and the beaten student laid there afterward and couldn’t move while other students were running and screaming. Why is this a reoccurring incident in just one school year? Why are these children in danger on a daily basis like this? I will be contacting the school about this. One time I went into the school to get my child for early dismissal and there was a child in there who was supposed to be sitting in a chair for “time out”, but instead he was laughing and running around instigating the office staff as the front secretary was yelling at him to “Sit Down!!”. Why was she in charge of watching over this student who was out of control? And why are the kids always seemingly so out of control??Yes, I understand there’s bullying instances at every school, but this school is over the top.The best way I can explain how I see this school is that they’ve mixed children who need extra behavioral help and children who don’t, and the results are disastwrous because both groups of students miss out. Some don’t get the proper help they need and the others are stuck meeting a standard that isn’t for them. Also, the teachers hands are tied because they can’t do much-they’re so busy attending to dealing with these problems when they should be mainly busy teaching their students! Yes, the principal and assistant principal are very kind, but a smiling face and kind word don’t suffice when it comes to bigger issues involving people’s children.

This school is GREAT! Number 1, there is NO TOLERANCE for bullying, #2: the teachers are concerned and genuinely care about their students, #3: the guidance counselors and social workers are excellent, and lastly, the principal amazingly knows every student's name as well as the concerns of those children. Rarely do you find that kind of interaction, especially from the principal. Just such a positive experience being in the building.
