Horrible. A young, new teacher was completely ill equipped to interact with a student with special needs. Her answer was to punish, embarrass and humiliate the student for his behavior, going so far as to tell him an 8 year old child after being absent one day for a doctor's visit that "they had such a wonderful day without him there". It is saddening that a Christian school seems not to practice what they preach. For a child who struggles already this was such a heartbreaking new hurdle for him to deal with.

I am a grandparent raising my four grandchildren. Three attend AES and I'm hoping we will still be in the area when our last one starts school in 3 years. I can't find adequate words to express my thanks to Dr. Ball who is a wonderful, devoted kindergarten teacher; Mrs. Moorman is a disciplined, (exactly what my granddaughter needed) compassionate first grade teacher; and Mrs. Keough is an intelligent, caring fourth grade teacher. Mr. Campbell and the entire staff at AES have all been very kind, helpful in every situation. It's the best elementary school that I've ever had the opportunity to work with!!! I never worry about their safety, education or moral standards while they are at school. I'm older than most parents whose children attend AES, so I think that I'm a pretty good judge of character and I surely wasn't born yesterday. Thanks Astatula Elementary School for doing such a wonderful job in educating my three precious grandchildren. They love to go to school!!!

My daughter LOVES going to school everyday. However, the ELC program needs a better director and support staff. They leave so much to be desired! They are glorified babysitters, that's it. If you are not Spanish, you are dirt to them and they take it out on your kids!!!

I used to be a student at astatula back in 2005 and all the teachers I met understood me and my classmates. They would help us one on one before and after school. Even though I only went to k-3 before I moved, I met almost every teacher there. The P.E. teacher was the best so far. I really like how they understand the parents unlike here in the H-E-B school district here in Texas .
