If you're looking for a great education in a safe environment for your child, Verde Elementary is it. My daughter has been attending this school since Kindergarten and will be entering the 3rd grade this next school year, and we love Verde. Being a DC-raised parent, I have found the best location to raise my child. Boca has by far the best school district in South Florida.

This is a great school. Great teachers. Great principal and educators. Great values. Healthy and safe development environment for the children to grow physically, emotionally and intellectually.

I was raised in a private international school and was looking for something similar for my son, with good academics. Verde is great at academics and has a multiculturally diverse and inclusive community. It's teachers, principal and staff are excellent and very engaged. The kids love Verde, school spirit is high for sure, which says tons about the school. The school also has a strong and supportive PTA. My only lament is that it is my son's last year. Responding to previous bad reviews: Due to its high ratings, this school has grown tremendously, over 300 kids in 4 years. This causes reorganization of classes once final numbers are in after the first few weeks of classes, to make sure classes maintain an optimal size for learning. Enrollment continues even after the first day of school and since it is a public school, no children living within its zone can be turned away. So it has grown beyond capacity, pods have been added to fulfill the class size requirements. It is well maintained and has huge green spaces for kids to play in. Due to its growth and it being one of the 2 oldest schools in the city, a new school will start being built June 2018 on campus, where students will then transfer when the new school is completed. There are approx. 1060 students at the moment and while there are school buses available for those who live outside a 2 mile radius, MANY parents choose to drive their kids to school, causing long car lines and more pollution. Teachers and staff volunteer their time to be in the car line and make sure the kids arrive to their classes safely. This is a public school with over 1000 children, so parents need to understand that personal requests are hard to fulfill if all parents have their preferences. Issues I have had I have dealt with my son's teacher and I also have had meetings with the principal for any bigger issues. He has always been accessible, stands on the car line, greets students and parents every morning, remembering kids'names and is open to initiatives that will improve the school environment and academics. Yes, no one likes testing, but that is mandated by the State, not the school. Another topic a parent mentioned was the gate being en eyesore. Well, in this day and age, the safety of the children is more important than aesthetics. I've gotten use to it and feel that it keeps the kids very safe. I came from NY and California and when relocating researched well on what the schools offered. Verde has by far fulfilled my expectations. Parents and teachers who volunteer in additional programs make this school an even better school.
