I'm a student at this school and I've been to two other middle schools leading up to this one, and it's by far the worst school I've ever been to. It's so cheap, everything is old and there are flies everywhere, bugs in the cafeteria, we don't have any mirrors and half the times the soap dispensers in the bathroom are empty. The staff is a joke. They don't care about their students and the students never get rewards for ANYTHING, while the teachers boast about how they get ice cream floats and cinnamon buns. Once in class, the principal and assistant principal gave the teacher a Popsicle while the students just watched her eat it. The teachers can't teach at all, their work isn't challenging, there's just a lot of it. This school is so ghetto, never send your child here unless you want them to be in an unhygienic school with staff who couldn't care less about their education.

I'm currently in eighth grade and have been attending Mariner Middle School since 2012, when I was in sixth grade. The teachers and staff are involved with our education and really do care about our success. Not only is it great academically; there are so many extracurricular activities and after-school clubs, like sports, Art Club, Odyssey of the Mind, Chess Club, NJHS, debate...the list goes on. There are also dances, and family events like movie nights, Evening Under the Stars, etc. Choose MMS! I highly recommend it!

Mariner Middle has such a bad rap that is just not true. Maybe the school has had it's issues in the past, but rest assure that is in the past. Excellent administration, teaching staff and students. The communication between staff and parents is amazing!! This was not my 1st choice school in the lottery. When we got the call that a spot had opened up at Gulf Middle we choose to stay put. LOVE IT HERE!!!! Note parent involvement score is low. There are MANY opportunities for parents to get involved. Some events are packed some are not.

I want to thanks to Mariner Middle School staff, because with their helps, my daughter could regain confidence in herself, and overcome her fears evoked in another school. In my opinion, they really love their profession, and they are truly trained to work with children in an age so hard. My daughter's health is better every day more, she is very happy and her grades are excellent!. Thanks again but especially to the assistant principal: Mr Munoz , guidance: Miss Soto and the principal of the school. I'm very grateful for your support, you are doing a great work!!!
