Clermont Middle School

Once the current principal was sent there everything changed. Most quality teachers immediately left, only a few remain. Now he does the hiring and brings in anyone he thinks is a “yes man” that he can control. He doesn’t want to deal with discipline issues so he doesn’t enforce policies and comes down on teachers who do. He thinks being the student’s friend will suffice, that consequences are negative, and that a student should never be upset regardless of what they say or do. There’s no real dress code and students constantly run all around the campus at any opportunity. They report late, if at all, and are in the hallways in bunches, just talking and “hanging out.” It’s a total zoo.

With two kids who have "survived" CLMS and another zoned for it for 6th grade and after reading the teacher review, I won't be sending my youngest in the fall.

my year at CLMS was the worst I've ever had in 30+ years in the classroom. Leadership at a school, particularly a middle school is EVERYTHING and this school has none. Some difficult students and some difficult parents who train up their children to do and say awful things but there are also a LOT of good students, sensible parents and hard working teachers and staff who deserve much better than they're getting. This school would benefit from having a leader. It does not currently have one.

I agree with the last review (1/!3/14). Must be the same math teacher!!!! Parents need to report this teacher!! Incidents may seem small but when they occur daily and in each class period.. it is too much!! Many students are affected. This teacher has no business teaching.
