I strongly suggest you explore other options. This school does not effectively support students with disabilities nor does it support gifted youth (I had both enrolled in this school). There is a high turnover rate with the teachers and the ones that stay are not there to support your child. The principal appears to be nice but is not supportive or helpful when there are issues. The have a zero tolerance for bullying but the teachers do not feel supported by administration to uphold this and my oldest was bullied and often witnessed her peers being bullied. I would not recommend this school to anyone and we are thankful we left, and have seen great improvement in our children since we left.

My son started Atlantis in the fall of last year. We are so much happier at this school! His teacher has gone above and beyond to help him overcome problems caused by his previous school. My youngest will start kindergarten there this fall! In the 3 years at his first school, my son went on one field trip. His class went on 2 really fun field trips this year!

This is by far the WORST school you could have your children attend. From personal experience with both faculty and students I can honestly condemn this school and recommend another. My son went from depressed and having low grades to having good grades and a better outlook after being removed from Atlantis. The parking/student pick up is a joke where parents nearly hit each other daily while other parkable areas are cordoned off limits. I have personally witnessed MAJOR security flaws and even spoke with the principal who has continued to do nothing. This is a horrible learning environment only focused on FCAT scores and NOT on education. Do yourself and your children a favor and look at another local school.

They say first impressions are everything. Well my daughter is a Kindergarten student at Atlantis Elementary School and let me tell you about our experience with the school in only the first year. First of all my daughter was with a certain teacher when the school year started and both my daughter and I really liked this teacher and thought we were going to be happy with this school. About 6-8 weeks into the school year on a Thursday my child s teacher informed me that my daughter would have a new teacher by next Monday. So they gave me a one day notice and said that there was no discussion about her staying with her current teacher. My daughter has also dealt with some bully issues at this school. I as a parent see a extreme lack of communication between the teachers and parents. I like that the school year is almost over so that I can enroll my daughter in a better school next year. To make the school better I would hire a friendlier staff that cares a little bit more about the students and parents having a good experience.IMMEDIATELY. My advice don t move to Port St John. Schools and the neighborhoods are horrible. I like that the school year is almost over.
