This school is absolutely terrible! The bullying and fights at this school are out of control! The principal and teachers seem to be sadly immune to it at this point and little if anything is done about the issues!

McInnis is a great place overall! The school is nestled in a small community where everyone knows everyone and it is just like this at the school. The school has before and after school tutoring and even select Saturday sessions. The teachers go out of their way to be sure that students are successful. The administration is new this year and they seem to be doing a great job in trying to change the reputation of the school. The only complaint I have is the lack of parent involvement when it comes to school meetings yet there were tons of parents at the Christmas program we attended. I am happy that my son has another 3 years at McInnis Elementary School.

I enrolled my son in McInnis in August of 2013. He made it 2 days. My son never went through the 1st grade and I requested that he be placed in the 1st grade and they refused. I was told they placed transfer students based on age only. In addition, this is not a primarily English speaking school and they do not offer Spanish classes for those of us that are not familiar with the Spanish language. My son came home crying and distraught for 2 days. He would say none of the kids in his class spoke English unless they were answering a question in class. To make matters worse his teacher called him stupid and told him he did not know how to read in front of his entire class. It was the worst public school experience ever. I pulled him immediately and enrolled him in a private school. He is in the proper grade, in the top 1% of his class and is happy & well adjusted.
